ARRIVAL IN KUANTAN

HOW TO GET TO KUANTAN

From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 1 / Terminal 2), you can take either flight, taxi or bus to Kuantan.

a) Getting to Kuantan by Air (Flight) - Recommended

You need to catch the connecting flight to Kuantan from KLIA via MH Airlines (MAS). It's only 40 minutes travel distance. We strongly recommend morning flights. The MAS morning flight from KLIA to Kuantan will depart at around 9.30am.

Once arrived at Kuantan Airport, you may take an airport taxi to UMP Gambang or UMP Pekan.

REMINDER :: Please take into consideration a reasonable hour of gap between your arrival at KLIA and your departure time to Kuantan. This is due to the Immigration Clearance / Custom process at KLIA that will take some more time.

b) Getting to Kuantan by Airport Limousine / Taxi

The coupons for airport limousine or taxi can be obtained at the Airport Limousine counters (Arrival Hall) . The Airport Limousine / Taxi would be very expensive as the distance from KLIA to Kuantan is it is 300km. For more information, visit: http://www.airportlimo.my. You can ask the taxi driver to drop you off at UMP Pekan or UMP Gambang campus.

c) Getting to Kuantan by Public Transport (Express Bus)

You can take the KLIA Express (train) from KLIA to KL Sentral. From KL Sentral, you can take either taxi or bus to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan at Bandar Tasik Selatan (TBS-BTS). At TBS, you can purchase a bus ticket to Kuantan.

Or, you may take the KLIA Transit (ERL) instead of KLIA Express, from KLIA to Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) Station. From BTS Station, you will have to go to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) by walking. TBS is just a walking distance from the BTS Station.

Another option is to take an express bus from KLIA Bus Station to Kuantan, but the frequency of trips and bus options are lower.

At TBS, the usual available buses are LA Holidays, Mayang Sari Express, Sani Express, Maraliner etc. The journey takes three (3) and half hours.

UMP Gambang Campus is just a 10 minutes drive from the Gambang exit of East Coast Highway. You can ask the bus driver to drop you off at the UMP bus stop. If you want to continue your journey to UMP Pekan campus, you have to take a taxi from the Kuantan Central Terminal (TSK).
