UMPSA Celebrates Open Day 2025 and iFUTURE Summit

Kuantan, 19 June 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully hosted the International Young Future Leaders Summit (iFUTURE 2025) as one of the flagship programmes of UMPSA Open Day 2025, held in conjunction with National TVET Day. The summit, which ran from 14 to 19 June 2025, culminated in a vibrant showcase of innovation, youth leadership, and strategic collaboration between academia, industry, and government at the Sports Complex Hall, UMPSA Gambang Campus.
Carrying the theme "TVET, Innovation and Future Leadership: Cultivating Synergy between Government, Industry, and Youth", the summit featured an engaging high-level forum with prominent national leaders, including Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan, President & CEO of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and YB Dato’ Sri Mohd Nizar Dato’ Sri Najib, Pahang State Executive Councillor for Investment, Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation.
The summit was officially launched by Datuk Seri Ir. Mohd Soffi Tan Sri Abd Razak, Pahang State Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Agrobased Industry, Biotechnology and Education. In his keynote speech titled “TVET as a Driver of the Future for Pahang and Malaysia”, he emphasised the urgent need for industry-driven education ecosystems to prepare the younger generation for future challenges in a fast-evolving global economy.

Adding an international flavour to the event, 46 international students from UMPSA, representing Indonesia, the Philippines, Jordan, Libya, Iran, Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, actively participated in various activities throughout the event. Their involvement highlighted UMPSA’s multicultural campus environment and its role as an emerging regional hub for global education and talent development.
In addition, the summit was attended by international students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), representing Egypt, Algeria, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Their presence brought further diversity to the event and fostered meaningful cross-cultural exchanges among participants.
Other participating institutions included Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Kolej Universiti Yayasan Pahang (UCYP), and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), reflecting strong inter-university collaboration in supporting youth empowerment through TVET and leadership initiatives.
In addition, the summit was attended by international students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), representing Egypt, Algeria, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. - Pasar Sarong (Sarong Market) – Promoting local entrepreneurship and culture
- Launch of the UMPSA Advanced System – Enhancing digital access to campus services
